BUILDING HEALTH EQUITY IN THE SILICON VALLEY
The Health Trust believes that all people deserve to live healthy lives, no matter their income, race, immigration status, language, age, or zip code.
As a non-profit operating foundation, The Health Trust was created by the conversion of a local nonprofit hospital system to a for-profit corporation. We are known as a “hospital conversion foundation” or “health care conversion foundation.”
Our role as a grant maker is to partner with local non-profit organizations and public sector agencies to improve community health outcomes. Our goal is to catalyze systemic changes that eliminate unequal outcomes across communities and populations and create a fair chance for everyone to live healthy and productive lives. We call it working towards health equity.
This is our mission driven by our core values as a funder and advocate. But we can’t do it alone. It will take all of us, funders, donors, community-based organizations, policymakers, local leaders, and community, working together to build towards our health equity vision. We are in it for the long haul.
Because everyone’s health matters.
