PLANNED GIVING: LEAVE A LEGACY
Remembering The Health Trust in your will or estate plans will provide critical, ongoing support health and social equity for vulnerable communities living in the Southern Silicon Valley (Santa Clara and Northern San Benito Counties).
There are many ways to structure your charitable giving depending on your personal goals and desires, your financial situation, the time of your gift, and other factors.
We recommend consulting your financial advisor or attorney to find the right option for you.
Leave a Lasting Gift
In addition to being one of the simplest ways to distribute your estate, your will or living trust can also be a creative vehicle through which to make thoughtful gifts. The following language can be used to designate a gift to The Health Trust:
“I give, devise, and bequeath to The Health Trust, federal tax identification number 94-6050231, at 3180 Newberry Drive, Suite 200, San Jose, CA 95118 the sum of $ _______ (or “__________% of my estate” or describe the real or personal property you wish to leave) to be used for its general purposes, including its senior nutrition program.”
There’s no minimum amount required. In fact, you can specify any dollar amount, leave a percentage or your estate, or designate what remains after your estate has been settled.
Make The Health Trust a Beneficiary of Your Retirement Plan or Life Insurance Policy
Naming The Health Trust on your retirement account or life insurance policy is a simple and powerful way to support our work without changing your will or living trust. Gifts pass directly to The Health Trust without going through the probate process and go right to work to help us provide services. Your heirs also avoid having to pay income tax on your retirement plan assets (401k, IRA, etc.), which makes this one of the best assets to leave to charity.
