New funding investments empower residents, strengthen capacities and foster collaboration to build a more resilient and equitable Silicon Valley.
San Jose, CA – At a time when communities are facing growing health disparities, economic uncertainty, and threats to critical health and social services, The Health Trust is investing in solutions that reinforce the foundation of community health. Through its current funding cycle, The Health Trust is supporting efforts that build community power, develop the next generation of health equity leaders and foster cross-sector collaboration to protect and strengthen local health infrastructure.
“These investments are about creating the conditions for people and communities to thrive,” said Dr. Tony Iton, CEO and President of The Health Trust. “Health equity is achieved when residents have a meaningful voice in shaping the decisions that affect their lives, when organizations have the resources and talent to serve their communities, and when partners come together around shared solutions. By investing in people, leadership and collaboration, we are helping build stronger systems that create lasting impacts on health.”
As part of its 2026 Cycle 4 grants, The Health Trust is investing in organizations that are strengthening community leadership, building non-profit and health care capacity, and bringing diverse partners together to address some of the region’s most pressing challenges. These investments come at a critical time, as reductions to health and safety net programs threaten to deepen existing inequities and place additional strain on communities that already face disproportionate barriers to health and opportunity.
“These grants reflect our commitment to supporting upstream solutions that address the root causes of inequities while strengthening the community leadership, partnerships and systems needed to drive lasting change,” said Maria Garcia, Vice President of Strategy and Programs, The Health Trust.
According to Garcia, The Health Trust has invested more than $3.7 million dollars during the organization’s 2026 grantmaking cycle. Garcia states these investments are intentionally aligned with the organization’s growing advocacy efforts, helping build the collective power, partnerships and community voice needed to advance policies and solutions that improve health outcomes across Silicon Valley and San Benito County.
Below are the organizations receiving funding during this grant cycle:
Health Equity Fund
Community Foundation for San Benito County: Funding will support CFSBC in formalizing a strategic workgroup of cross-sector partners to develop a coordinated regional response to the impacts of HR1, including community education, preserving Medi-Cal coverage, and protecting San Benito County’s local health infrastructure.
Health Career Connection: Funding will help cultivate the next generation of health equity leaders in Santa Clara and Northern San Benito counties by creating high-impact internship opportunities in communities disproportionately impacted by health injustice.
In-Advance: Funding will advance health equity locally by leveraging community education and strategic collaboration to convene community-rooted organizations and community members to co-design solutions that address the systemic drivers of health inequities.
